UFVA Conference 2023
I attended and presented twice this year at the 2023 University Film Video Association Conference in Savannah, GA. My second presentation was held on Friday July 21st, and was an official screening and response panel for my short film “Amplifying Feedback Loop”.
Partnered on my panel was Assistant Professor Elizabeth LeDoux of Bentley University, who shared her works in progress on her upcoming short film “After Life”.
In a written review response, she had this to say about my piece:
“… This engrossing and poetic work reminds that this space, this planet, is our spiritual and collective home and that if every individual took part in even some small manner of acceptance and accountability, it could be a tipping point from the brink of our climate crisis..”
“…What I most appreciated about this work is its use of poetry to engage the senses that is further enhanced by centering the morphing imagery. This allows animated elements to become something else to consider, showing further connectedness. As much as we are to blame, we are also the key to the narrative’s redemption and resolution by actively contributing to solving true sustainability moving forward. It is a work that is provocative, honest, encouraging, and, most importantly, human.”
I was deeply honored by her words, and felt grateful for such a receptive audience.
This year, Amplifying Feedback Loop also went on to receive an Honorable Mention in the animation category as well.
