Animated Womxn Panel

I recently was able to screen at Puppet Animation Scotland— their MANIPULATE Film Festival (14th annual) ran online this year due to COVID. I feel so grateful that I was able to attend this online and view so many films from around the globe, and with many thanks to Melanie Purdie, who reached out the last October to invite Wild Woman .

On the screening, Beth Blakemore, of the WeeReview, noted that “The evening opens strongly with ‘Wild Woman’ by Vanessa Sweet, whose poem about motherhood is beautifully illustrated through vibrant yet still soft watercolours.”

I also presented on their panel “Animated Womxn”— the first of it’s kind at the fest. I appreciated being around so many wonderful filmmakers , some whom I was acquainted with, such as Kate Jessop, and many others who were new to me and their work equally wonderful to behold.
